An escape from Bohol Island to Pamalican Island perhaps is one of the greatest choices we made in Bohol. The subject of ‘island hopping’ did queer us out in the beginning as we imagined hopping a number of 3 TO 4 islands, checking out what’s out there awaited us in Visayas.
Though it was a surprise we were just being left on Pamalican, we had the best host greeting us, the greatest captain sailing us, and the most outstanding homegrown food being cooked.
I wonder how long will it take us to walk through the island, we did attempt to walk around, but in the end feeling chilling under the hut is much a better idea for the great vibe on the island, and of course it was because I forgot our swimming gear on the island leaving mom and I had a decent mesmerize chat about Philippines childhood memories, which led my siblings having the underwater world to themselves singing Under the Sea.
Woke up at 5am while the boat sail out at 6am, never in the world will I wake up at 5 in the city, would you? Everything is always an exceptional during traveling, isn’t it. Sunny was our Captian of the day, dwelled in Pamalican Island, sailed all the way across the sea between dawn, an ex-fisherman now a tourist sailor sharing the story of not enough fish to be found to fish these days.
“OMG DOLPHINS!”  We were insane lucky to spot heaps of school and school of dolphins on the rising horizon, Sunny looked over and said there are hundred of them out there. These amazing mammals are the “Spinner” kind, in a breathe of gasp we saw one dolphin leap out of the water with a dancing flip twist, dove back in the water with its pal swimming far fast away in the sea, leaving the human being on the boat jawed open beaming with eyes wide open.
Rural and chill as it seems, there were simple island style housing on the island. I did find a few on AirBnb, but left the idea of staying there for the sake of water and nature insects.
ps- Dolphins watch doesn’t happen everyday (we met other tourists during firefly tour complaining about finding not a single sight in the water), needs a bit of luck, and believe <3
